Fans of the hit anime and manga series Dragon Ball Super were shocked and thrilled with the release of Chapter 90 on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. The chapter had some big surprises in store for fans, including the return of Nimbus and the re-introduction of a long-absent character. In the opening pages of the chapter, readers were treated to an unexpected glimpse of the Nimbus, the magical cloud that Goku rode and returned to in the original Dragon Ball series.

However, the robot android urged Goten to accept his new identity and continue to train and perfect his warrior skills. As Goten continued on his way to the school, questions raced through his mind as to why Gohan had given up the fight. In a flashback, readers were shown Gohan’s decision to quit after the Tournament of Power, citing a desire to focus on his family and academic pursuits. But as the chapter drew to a close, readers were treated to a surprise appearance by Gohan himself.

In the Dragon Ball franchise, Goku is the main protagonist and hero of the story, and as such is often seen as the ultimate warrior and savior of the universe. Despite being Goku’s son, Goten is not the heir to his father’s legacy as some would expect.
One of the reasons is that Dragon Ball’s story focuses on personal growth and character development rather than simply inheriting power and abilities through genetics. While Goten has many of the same abilities as his father, such as the ability to transform into a Super Saiyan, he has yet to demonstrate the same level of mastery and skill in combat. Additionally, Goku himself isn’t necessarily concerned with passing on his legacy to his children in the traditional sense.
