Calabar Carnival Returns After Two Years


After a two-year hiatus introduced on by the coronavirus pandemic, the Calabar Carnival is about to be staged in December 2022.

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Cross River State, Eric Anderson, who confirmed the occasion, gave causes for the resumption of the pageant all through a press briefing.

He talked about, “Cross River is among the many committee of carnival producers on the earth. Carnivals had been shut down worldwide within the final two years due to COVID-19.

“As we speak, carnivals worldwide have started production, and we can see that the Covid-19 protocols have been relaxed. As a member of the committee, we feel we should also resume as well. Tourism is one aspect of culture that has put Cross River on the World Tourism Map.”
