Farmer Ben has finally spoken out about his unexpected divorce from Leish after their passionate love affair on Farmer Wants A Wife.
The NSW dairy farmer, 27, posted a video to Instagram thanking his fans and co-stars for their support before breaking his silence on “what happened” with his ex.
Speaking from a paddock on his farm, Ben revealed that he and Leish had their ‘ups and downs and unfortunately we just didn’t work out’.

He said they had tried to make things work “for a while after the show,” but it didn’t work out for the couple.
“I had so much love for Leish and to this day I have so much love for the girl,” he continued.
“I don’t have a bad word to say about her at all and, yes, I hope you appreciate our privacy as to why the relationship broke up.”

Ben said he wanted to “get out” and speak out sooner, but was unable to make his own statement about the split because “Channel Seven had my socials.”
It comes almost two weeks after Leish, 31, first announced the couple’s breakup in a statement on Instagram.
She revealed that she had tried “everything” to make their relationship work and was “absolutely shocked and heartbroken.”
He said they had tried to make things work “for a while after the show,” but it didn’t work out for the couple. (Pictured together during the FWAW season finale)
“I did everything I could to make our relationship last after the show. Also want to move to the farm earlier. Yes everyone, I always intended to move,’ she said.
“But unfortunately it wasn’t there anymore for Ben and I was absolutely shocked and heartbroken. I gave it my all and fell in love with Ben, his daughter and family (which hurts just that little bit extra).
“I am grateful for the support I have received over the past few months from the other girls on Ben’s farm and the other farms. They have been true selfless legends who have helped me heal,” she added, before wishing Ben “all the best” in the future.

The split came as a shock to FWAW viewers, as Ben and Leish had a passionate connection this season, often sneaking out to steal kisses.
The hospital administrator fell in hot water with the other women vying for the farmer’s heart after catching her in his bedroom late at night.
She immediately caught the farmer’s attention and was invited to come to his farm 24 hours ahead of everyone else – a favoritism that became apparent when Ben was drawn to Leish for secret kisses.
